This will work to move the picture from DisplayPort output (male) to VGA input (female).  Digital signal to analogue. Will not work in reverse (see images).

Connection Steps

  • Power off both devices
  • Plug in DisplayPort into source device
  • Connect VGA cable to VGA end of adapter and then into monitor's VGA input.
  • Power on monitor first then source device.
